Gato Roboto absolutely deserves a spot in the collection of amazing games published by Devolver Digital, I look forward to seeing what else doinksoft develops. If anything, it makes me want MORE of this game in the future! My only issue was having to edit my frame rate settings because I use a 144Hz monitor (and the game was oddly slower if I didn't set it to 60fps), outside of that I have literally zero complaints. The length, while sadly short, doesn't really take away from the game's quality in my opinion, as the pacing and control the game offers is beautifully well done. Adventure awaits the most curious of cats in Gato Roboto Explore the underground labyrinth of a deep space outpost and uncover the dastardly deeds that unfolded before your arrival. One thing that *could* deter people is the art style, which is truly a shame because while simple at first glance, its anything BUT a shortcoming (avoiding spoilers of course). The music never got boring, the level design was never annoying, and the collectibles were a healthy mix of progression and cosmetics (enough so that I also got them all in my initial play-session funnily enough).
I highly recommend if you like metroidvania games, or you wanna get into the genre but are overwhelmed by hundreds of collectibles or too much of a time investment. It was engaging and charming the whole playthrough, enough so that I beat my first run in one sitting.
